Steve left the Prudential as a 21 year old and set up Cooke & Mason when Harold Wilson was Prime Minister. A “hands-on” Chairman, Steve is focused on looking after his clients and developing the business. He is passionate about customer care and about getting good claims outcomes for his clients. Steve is a lifelong Manchester United supporter and enjoys good food and wine. It is rumoured that he’s an accomplished cook.
David has day-to-day responsibility for driving along the insurance broking business. David’s early career covered sales, commercial underwriting and claims with major insurance companies. He has been in insurance since 1984 and broking since 1990. Outside of work, David was a keen cricketer and rugby player and following his ”retirement” from active sport he took up coaching and golf. He is now a RFU Level 2 (rugby union) coach and enjoys a single figure golf handicap.
After seven years in general accountancy practice, working in audit practice before progressing to Corporate Senior, Elisa joined Cooke & Mason in 2004. In addition to her accountancy responsibilities Elisa holds a number of wider general management responsibilities and is an important member of the acquisition team. Elisa continues to play Flat Green Bowls, both indoors and outdoors, at the highest level, having represented her country and recently won two national titles.
Vicky’s insurance career began with Sun Alliance before moving into broking. She has focused on developing a detailed knowledge of the motor trade sector and its insurance needs. Today Vicky and her expert team look after over 1,000 motor dealerships and she’s built a strong reputation for service and customer care. With a strong interest in Health and Safety, Vicky also sits on the HSE’s Motor Vehicle Repair Forum. Outside of work, Vicky enjoys spending time with her family, foreign holidays and a range of sporting activities.
In his role, leading a specialist team and serving a wide range of clients within the Logistics sector, David can call on 30 years’ of insurance broking experience, most of which has come from looking after Haulage and Warehousing clients. Before Cooke & Mason, he looked after a portfolio for the Road Haulage Association Insurance Services. David is one of the founder members of the company’s on-site gym facility and he’s also a keen Leicester City fan.
David has over 30 years’ experience as an insurance broker having worked for a number of different firms in the East Midlands and North West. Prior to that, he worked for the Cornhill Insurance Company (now Allianz of course).
David is responsible for commercial insurances at our Lincoln and Retford offices. He has an eye for, and is expert in managing the more complex requirements, providing advice on such as D&O and Environmental Impairment, in addition to the more standard covers. He has also developed particular specialisms for Commercial Property, Construction and High Risk Liability Business Insurance.
Outside of work, David enjoys getting involved in challenges to earn revenue for deserving charities and has a keen interest in history and philosophy.
Simon has over 30 years’ insurance broking experience, looking after the insurance needs of both Corporate and Professional clients. He is head of our Professions division, providing technical insurance and broking advice, with particular expertise in Professional Indemnity, Management Liability and Crime insurances. A keen rugby fan, he has travelled the “rugby world” to watch England and the British & Irish Lions, including England winning the World Cup in Sydney.
