Corporate Social Responsibility

We aim to achieve sustainable profitable growth in conjunction with other objectives. We aim to interact positively with our local community and with society in general. Our business prefers to take a long-term view.

Environment We have identified where we impact significantly on the environment and taken steps to make improvements. Practical steps have been taken including diversion of paper waste for re-cycling, fitting light-sensors to reduce electricity consumption and an initiative to reduce water consumption.

Employment This company is committed to practical application of its Equal Opportunities policy. Health and Safety management systems have been implemented and are continuously improved to maintain a safe and healthy working environment. Employee reward systems reflect the contribution of the employee to the business in terms of effort and effectiveness. Should we suspect harassment, we will investigate. If we find harassment, we will intervene. We have a system to consider any staff grievances. It is our policy to support employees through personal difficulties, for so long as this is reasonably practical.

Health & Safety We have a well-established, documented safety system. It is updated and amended frequently. Our Health & Safety committee meets every six weeks. Risk assessments are reviewed. Training is provided at induction and in accordance with identified needs. The board allocates necessary resource to its Health and Safety function and takes Health and Safety into account where relevant in arriving at decisions.

Community We aim to be a responsible neighbour. We endeavour to support at least one local charity in any one year.

Customers We aim to build long-term relationships with customers and suppliers. This business is customer-focused and aims to deliver sector-leading customer service. Official complaints are always handled by a director of the company. We try hard to clarify customers’ needs and aim to provide suitable solutions.

Suppliers We seek to work with quality suppliers and sub-contractors. We will respect our suppliers and their needs. We will encourage customers and suppliers, to the extent we are able, to consider their social responsibilities.

Bribery No officer or employee is authorised to make any payment to any customer or official in order to obtain or retain business. Any officer or employee who is offered any gift or offer of hospitality from any supplier must refer the matter to a director to ensure there is no conflict of interest. No officer or employee is paid any commission or other inducement for the procurement or placement of any business.
